Why do some parks forbid charging?

In our experience this generally comes down to either infrastructure concerns (charging might put a strain on their electric system) or cost (a full charge can exceed $100 for large EVs in some states).

Don't big rigs use even more power?

A large Class A running 2 ACs and multiple appliances comes somewhat close in power needs to a standard EV charger (32A) but even those don't tend to run at max power for 10+ hours at the time the way an EV charger does.

How can I be a good EV guest?

Ask for permission to charge, and set your charging speed to as low as possible while still getting a full charge. Charging at half speed for twice as long uses the same amount of energy, but because it is spread out over more time it puts less of a strain on the RV parks electrical system, and is less likely to flip any breakers.

How good are your sources?

We tried to be as thorough as possible, getting the data directly from the RV park's website when possible, calling them to confirm if needed, and resorting to third party websites as a last resort. All sources are linked so you can confirm for yourself before heading out.
