Does Douglas Tailwater Campground Allow EV Charging?

There are currently no EV charging capabilities at our facilities. RV electrical pedestals are designed for non-continuous loads, not the constant electricity flow required to charge EV batteries.
Just below the dam from its headwater sibling, Douglas Tailwater Campground sits on the French Broad River where it runs cold and fast out of the turbines, near Sevierville, Tennessee. It is prime tailwater fishing water, and the same Go Camp Tennessee no-charging rule applies. Their published reasoning: "RV electrical pedestals are designed for non-continuous loads, not the constant electricity flow required to charge EV batteries." The nearest DC fast charging is in Kodak, about 4 miles away, with Tesla Supercharger and Electrify America stations. Dandridge is another option at roughly 7 miles, with EV Connect. The Smokies' northern flank has good charger density, so charge up on the way in and focus on the trout.
