Three New States, Plus Texas Fills In
Fifty-one parks across four states this round. New Jersey, North Dakota, and West Virginia join the directory, and reader suggestions helped us add 14 more Texas parks. West Virginia's state parks are giving away free EV charging at every lodge park in the system. That got our attention.

West Coast Push, Plus Maryland and Nebraska Debut
We went wide this week with 47 parks across four states. Oregon leads the pack with 20 parks, including six state parks that all have dedicated EV charging stations. California adds 13 more (from Death Valley to Half Moon Bay), Maryland and Nebraska join the directory for the first time, and the KOA story gets more complicated.

March 2026: Iowa and Missouri Join the Directory
Big Midwest expansion with 38 parks across two new states. Iowa brings 8 parks with a mixed bag of policies, while Missouri adds 30 parks highlighted by 11 state parks with a uniform $5 EV charging fee. Missouri KOAs universally prohibit charging, but independent parks and the state park system tell a more welcoming story.

- •Missouri state parks have a uniform $5 EV charging policy — the most consistent state park system we've seen. Even non-campers can charge at a vacant electric site for $5 with a one-hour limit

Camp and Charge 2025: The Year in EV Charging Policies
From 8 California parks to 192 across 25+ states. A look back at the good parks, the $275 fines, and everything we learned about EV charging at RV parks this year. Big thanks to everyone who contributed.

December 2025: Hitting 192 Parks
Eighteen months of phone calls, website searches, and traveler reports brought us to 192 verified parks. The final twelve additions this month filled remaining Midwest gaps and added a few destination spots we'd been chasing.

November 2025: Southeast Snowbird Season
Big month with 30 new parks across 8 states. Focused on filling Southeast gaps and covering snowbird destinations before winter travel season kicks in. Found some surprising state-level patterns.
Highlights:

- •⚠️ Every Louisiana park surveyed, including Slidell KOA, prohibits EV charging. A clean sweep of "no"
- •Mississippi told a different story. KOA locations like Hattiesburg / Okatoma River KOA have dedicated charging stations
October 2025: Fall Foliage in New England
Headed to New England during peak leaf season. Added 25 parks across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Found some creative charging fees and an interesting split in policy approaches.

September 2025: Michigan Joins the Directory
Pushed into the Great Lakes this month with eighteen Michigan parks. Found a mixed bag: some charging policies were refreshingly straightforward, others... less so.

- •Starlight Campground in Mancelona charges $15 per four hours for EV charging. Simple, clear, works
- •⚠️ Indigo Bluffs near Sleeping Bear Dunes has a strict no charging policy for any reason
August 2025: Summer Heat and $75 Fines
Summer travel brought us to popular destinations and some eye-opening policy discoveries. Found our first parks with actual dollar fines for unauthorized EV charging. Also found parks doing it right.
Highlights:

- •Added Aspen Grove RV Park and other Utah parks near national parks

June 2025: Into the Mountains
Expanded mountain state coverage with twenty parks across Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Summer camping season research turned up interesting altitude-related concerns about electrical capacity.

April 2025: Spring in the Carolinas
Spring camping season took us through the Carolinas and Virginia. Sixteen new parks revealed interesting regional differences in how parks communicate their policies.

- •Blue Ridge Parkway area parks generally accommodating to EVs
- •Found our first pay-per-use policy: one park charges $15 per night for EV charging on top of the site fee
February 2025: Texas Brings the Strictest Policies Yet
Expanded into Texas this month and hit some of the strictest EV charging policies we've seen. Fourteen new parks, and the winter Sunbelt research revealed clear patterns around electricity costs.

December 2024: Desert Winter and Seasonal Policies
Winter holiday travel took us through Nevada, New Mexico, and back to Arizona. Eighteen parks added, and found something interesting: seasonal charging policies.

- •Discovered first seasonal policy: one Arizona park allows EV charging October through April but prohibits it May through September when AC demand peaks
October 2024: The EV-Friendly Pacific Northwest
Expanded into Washington and Oregon with fifteen parks. The Pacific Northwest proved refreshingly EV-friendly, likely due to strong regional EV adoption.

August 2024: Mountain States and Infrastructure Reality
Summer road trip research took us through Colorado and Arizona. Twelve parks added, showing an interesting mix: some very accommodating, others worried about their electrical systems.

June 2024: The Beginning
Started this project after one too many frustrating phone calls asking "can I charge my Rivian while towing?" First eight California parks verified with documented policies. Turns out nobody was tracking this stuff.
